About UPA

Uganda Pioneers' Association (UPA) is a voluntary non-governmental organisation registered with the national NGO Board (ref. S5914/114). UPA aims at promoting community based development, intercultural co-operation and youth participation through voluntary work. The organisation focuses on offering youths the opportunity to contribute to community development by involving them in community projects, workcamps and international volunteer exchange.

"Together we shape the future", the motto of UPA, shows that UPA believes that involving youths can make a difference in development, bridge gaps between peoples, enhance co-operation and break down institutional barriers.

The main mission of UPA is: to promotoe community based development, intercultural co-operation and youth participation through voluntary work. Also a number of objectives have been set, these can be read in the aims and objectives section.
These aims and objectives lead to a number of activities UPA has employed over the years. A summary of the basic occupations of UPA can be found in the activities section.
