International Work Camps 2008

Since 1989 UPA has been engaged in organizing short term national and international volunteer (STV) projects in the form of workcamps. Work camps have been used as means for building local communities. Volunteers from all over the world have come together and through common efforts community centres, health units, small scale farming plots and much more has been constructed. Friendship cross borders has been created and barriers between people from different cultures broken down.

In 2008 UPA has planned 12 work camps in different parts of Uganda. The work camps are hosted by 8 different UPA branches. The themes of the work camps vary from Peace and Reconciliation, Environment and Sanitation, Sustainable Development, Music, dance and drama and HIV/AIDS.

We welcome you to join in one of these workcamps.

danceIf you wish to participate in a UPA work camp, please contact the UPA secretariat.

More information about the workcamps of 2008, registration and further information about the services of UPA can be found in the folder UPA workcamps 2008. Watch the folder here (to download, right-click and select 'save target as...').
