UPA also tends to place volunteers in some of its branches so that members in these also benefit from the volunteer programme. This is to begin with five branches of the organization out of the 10 that are established.
Arua is located in North-Western Uganda, close to the borders of Sudan and Congo. Arua is the placement furthest away from Kampala, 8-10 hours drive by car/ Bus through Murchison Falls National park. Arua is located in an area that for many years was affected by the instability in Northern Uganda and neighboring countries but Arua town and nearby surroundings are quiet now. Arua is an active medium size town (The largest in West Nile), with internet cafes and good local restaurants differing from the Kampala ones and health services from Hospitals to clinics.
The branch is presently developing a project "Pioneer Youth Partners Forum Theatre Consortium" that deals in sensitizing of the community in schools and villages on, health & HIV, Reproductive programmes, Career guidance for pupils and students, Civic education, Farming and children rights. The branch shares office space with Education Access Africa at a local resource centre.
